To serve as a juror for the inaugural TOURISE Award proved unexpectedly revelatory. Having travelled widely as the director of several major art museums, I found myself reflecting on the many places I had visited - and, in some cases, worked in - from an entirely different perspective. No longer solely through a professional lens, but through the eyes of the curious, engaged traveler.
