Former Managing Director, Condé Nast
Albert Read is the former Managing Director of Condé Nast UK, where he oversaw titles including Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller and The World of Interiors during one of the company's most successful periods. He launched Wired in the UK, diversified the business into digital products, conferences, awards and education, and established Condé Nast's operations in China, India and the UAE. He has also served as Chair of the London Evening Standard.
His recent book, The Imagination Muscle (2024), was named one of Bloomberg's Books of the Year, selected for The Economist's Five Essential Books on Creativity, and included on JP Morgan's NextList 2025. He is a senior advisor to the Milken Institute and an external advisor to Bain & Company. He read Classics at New College, Oxford and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
